Everything except the three Lynn Abbey books I read I would strongly recommend

Starting in March (ok, that's a little early, but heck)
Anne Bishop's Pillar's of the World:
Pillars of the World
Shadows and Light
The House of Gaian

Dark Jewels Universe
Dreams Made Flesh

Lynn Abbey's Orion's children
Out of Time
Behind Time
Taking Time
(Note: This is the only series I've read that I wouldn't recommend)

David Weber's Ring of Fire universe:
1634: The Galileo Affair

Kim Harrison:
Dead Which Walking
The Good, the Bad, and the Undead
Every Which way but Dead

Jim Butcher's Dresden series:
Storm Front
Fool Moon
Grave Peril
Summer Knight
Death Masks
Blood Rites

Kelly Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld
Bitten
Stolen
Dime Store Magic
Industrial Magic
Haunted

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

John Ringo, David Weber' Prince Roger Series
We Few

David Weber: The Shadow of Saganimi
(Don't recommend this one either. I stopped reading it half way through)

Piers Anthony Incarnations of Immortality
Upon a Pale Horse

Elizabeth Haydon's The Symphony of Ages
Rhapsody: Child of Blood
Prophecy: Child of Earth
Destiny: Child of the Sky
(Current)Requiem for the Sun
(Pending) Elegy for a Lost Star
The Assasin King, which will come out in October.

I have read over half your list as well. I 2nd the vote for Dhampir, cause it is a nice series that is building up an interesting plot, and you tend to like the charectors.

I so think someone needs to create a book review list for people that like fantasy and sci-fi *nods*.

Have you read the rest of Weber's Honor Harrington series? And I didn't find Shadows to be horrific. What bothered you about it?

And I read the most recent Glen Cook book. Not as good as the early ones, actually I think the appearance of the alien nympho women is my marker for where I started being really dissapointed in the series.

Bah.

Yes, I've read the other Honor Harrington Books, and enjoyed them greatly. That's why I was so disapointed in Shadow.

Mostly because it wasn't about Honor. But also because it was much more politically based than the other Honor books. I got half way through it and there hadn't been any decent plot suspense/build/action to hook me into it. I found myself skipping large quantities of it.

I finally realized I wasn't enjoying it when I put the book down out of boredom without marking my spot, and then realizing I didn't care that I hadn't marked the spot.

We must be on the same wavelength reading wise ... I reread the "incarnations" series earlier this year too ... one of my favorite series right up until the end, when he tried to do God and the Devil *bleh* Then I just got pissed 'cause they didn't really ring true...

I'll have to try some of the others on your list. Matter or fact, if there is one you'd be willing to lend me, send it with M to the BR meeting tonight since I'm planning on going.
